Beaconz takes the map Point-Of-Interest (POI) concept and supercharges it. Now everyone can create them and they’re not just for marking coffee-shops, restaurants and monuments but for anything and everything!

Whether you’re new in town and want to see what shops, restaurants and hotels are offering deals and discounts or are looking for a job or someone giving away a sofa —beaconz is your insight to a neighbourhood.

If you’ve lost something, create a beacon to say so —there may already be one nearby from someone who found it!

The beacon owner sets the contact options including private chat where you can exchange more pictures and information.

There’s never been a more efficient way to link information to location.

Beacons are colour coded by category, events for example are orange. There are categories and sub-categories for almost everything and you can filter out those that don’t interest you.

You can even turn yourself into a mobile beacon so your colleagues, friends and family can track you or know exactly where to meet up. (Continued use of GPS running in the background can dramatically decrease battery life.)

Perhaps create a public Chat beacon, inviting conversation with you and possibly the exchange of pics.

You can browse wherever you want and search for beacons matching your need. Searches can also be made ACTIVE and send you alerts when new matching beacons are created.

Public or Private - you control. Whilst public beacons are invaluable for instantly reaching a neighbourhood audience, you can also create private beacons, either just for yourself or for user groups you define.

A beacon set to a user group will only be visible to the members of that group —perfect for treasure hunts, drive-outs or any application requiring privacy such as a child marking their location to a collecting parent.

Sharing is cool and public beacons can be shared by Facebook, Twitter, email, SMS or just sent directly to another Beaconz users phone.
